The Pineapple Room

Yummmm.

Don & I went to the Pineapple Room last night.

The Pineapple Room’s Chef Alan Wong also authored the lovely foodie book The Blue Tomato, and owns and operates a Waikiki restaurant that bears his namesake Alan Wong’s Honolulu where President Obama is known to dine when visiting Hawaii. Chef Alan cooks with locally grown foods which makes the dining experience authentic and environmentally friendly.

We went to the Pineapple Room for our first anniversary & were hooked.

This time we had the most amazing Bruschetta with Goat Cheese, Tomato Jam, Olive Tapenade and Fresh Basil.

Don had the Mango Chutney and Macadamia Nut Crusted Apple Curry Glazed Kurobuta “Berkshire” Pork Chop with Kabocha Pumpkin and Mascarpone Cheese Puree – whew that’s a mouthful.

I tried some of the Pumpkin Mascarpone Cheese Puree and it was delicious!

I had the PR Seafood Salad, with Crab, Shrimp, Poke, Nalo Greens and Green Goddess Dressing. I don’t usually order anything with crab because I can’t stand imitation crab but this was the real deal and I ate every bite.

Tonight though I’m going to whip up something healthy after a weekend of eating out.
