Aloha Swap Meet

Yesterday Don & I went to the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. There were tents full of chachkies and about 5 different travel agents asking us if we were on our honeymoon harassing us about joining their tour group.
It’s a great place to seek out cheap Hawaiian themed souvenirs, but it could be condensed down to half it’s size since most of the booths were repeated 2 or 3 times over. Hence it got a little repetitive. Plus we were counting on some good street food, but there were hardly any food vendors!
We did end up taking home a few interesting finds. Don got some “lounging shorts” made out of Japanese rice bags. They had totebags too & I think I may go back next week to get one because I keep thinking about it!
I got some Kava powder. Kava is an ancient medicinal root that is used to relieve stress and calm nerves. The vendor said it also helped with muscle soreness and insomnia – I was sold! It’s quite a process to prepare the drink though (it has to be strained using cheesecloth or panyhose).
On a side note, you may have noticed some blog changes – how do you like it? I think it looks much cleaner and more professional 🙂
